The Kenosha Public Museum
Museums are always a great place to bring the family for fun, and the Kenosha Public Museum has free admission and special attractions all summer long.

Transparent Watercolor Society of America – 33rd Annual Juried Exhibition (May 2-July 26) – More than eighty artists have their works on display during this exhibit.

Japanese Woodblock Prints (Through September 27) – These blocks were created between the 17th and 20th centuries in Japan and feature exotic prints that have had a tremendous influence in the art world.

Other exhibits include: Peter V. Bianchi: The Art of Science (August 2009-May 2010), Jack Fleischer Retrospective (August 1-November 29), and Ethnographic Pottery (Opens August 15, 2009)

The Kenosha Public Museum also hosts a variety of free family fun activities all summer long:
Art Fair Kids Tent – July 19

Boo Fest – October 24
Rocks Rock!- November 22

The Anderson Arts Center
Another free family fun activity in Kenosha is the Anderson Arts Center. Opened in April of 1992, the Anderson Arts Center, located on the historical Kemper Center grounds, hosts numerous activities and events through the year.

May 17 – July 19: Racine Art Guild, Ceramic by Bill Anderson, Solo Winners of 2008 Winter Juried Exhibition, “Celebrating Summer”, and Bristol Elementary School Exhibit

August 9 – October 11: League of Milwaukee Artists, Nature 3-Way, Wisconsin Watercolor Society, “Inspirations”, and St. Mary Catholic School Exhibit

November 1 – January 3, 2010: Winter Juried Show, Holiday Exhibit, “Sparkle”, and Bradford High School Exhibit

Beaches of Lake Michigan
What is summer without some free family fun in the sun? Since Kenosha is located on the shores of beautiful Lake Michigan, there are many beaches throughout Kenosha. Most do not have lifeguards on duty, though some beach areas do.

Kenosha Public Libraries
Why not grab a book to enjoy while sunning on those great beaches? Kenosha has four conveniently located branches and the traveling Bookmobile for even more free family fun on your summer vacation.

Washington Park Velodrome
For those of you that like a little more fast paced family fun, you can enjoy the free races at the Washington Park Velodrome. Two major races are taking place this summer:
Bob Pfarr Memorial 150 Lap Point Race - July 21
2nd Annual Kenosha Keiren and Amy Tremelling Memorial Women’s Keiren - July 28th

Jelly Belly Factory Tours
Did you ever wonder how the makers of great jelly beans, including the Harry Potter Bernie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans, are made? Stop on by the Jelly Belly Factory in Kenosha and take a tour of the factory. Best part of the tour? Free Jelly Belly samples!
